The history of Union is as bold and innovative as the new chapter we’re about to write. Things started in 1931. Union began as an oil supplier in Finland and grew into a brand that wasn’t just part of the industry—it reshaped it. Back then, Union wasn’t your average gas station. It was where innovation and interaction happened. First automatic car wash? That was us. Direct-payment gas pumps? We did it first. Credit cards, electronic data systems, telephones, employee mindset development—you name it, Union was making moves.
At its peak, Union wasn’t just fueling cars—it was fueling societal progress, operating 260 stations across Finland and holding a 20% share of the domestic gasoline retail market. The success was built on bold ideas, fearless entrepreneurship, and the energy to keep moving forward. However, as the industry consolidated, Union’s operations were absorbed and rebranded by Neste Oil in 1990.
Fast forward to 2025, and Union is making a comeback, but we’re doing things differently this time. Building on our legacy of bold ideas and forward-thinking culture, Union enters a new realm: a lifestyle brand designed for the next generation of explorers. No more gas stations. No more pumps. With high energy and a daring mindset, Union is merging its rich history of innovation with a fresh perspective.
